Reputable Reviews: Pop Island Paperfield

Reviewing: Pop Island Paperfield
Pop Island Paperfield was released on July 21, 2010. The game is one of the cheapest, cutest, funnest ways to have fun on DSiware. It has a new team, the Magic Shooters, who weren't in the first Pop Island. It has standard Capture the Flag, and a variation. For those who are new to PI, the variation works like this. There are flags that respawn at different points. Those are neutral flags. You have to go out to get the flags and bring them back to base while avoiding enemies, all while playing as a super cute animal or vehicle. The game has six levels, all named after moons, that have replay value for, maybe, a month or two. The game has the best multiplayer in ages. It's not Pay & Play, you don't even need to DSis. Any DS can pick up the multiplayer by using DS Download Play. It automatically unlocks everything, and up to eight can play. That's quite a lot of hyper cute animals brawling each other over flags. Pop Island is a good game in many different ways. I hoped this review helped!

Cool Classics: Metroid

Memories of: Metroid
Metroid on the NES was great. Metroid on the Virtual Console, might be even better. It has inovated controls, which still has the nostalgia of an NES controller, using two buttons, a plus pad, and start and select (or plus and minus in this case.) For those who don't know, Metroid is a game that has no levels, two mini bosses, and a final boss, Mother Brain. It focuses on exploration, and really lets you blaze your own trail around the deep and mysterious planet Zebes. You start out with only one weapon, the standard laser. It fires about three feet in front of you, and then stops. By thoroughly exploring the planet, you can get upgrades such as missiles, bombs, freeze rays, high-jump boots, longer shots, grapple beams, power bombs, screw attack, and more. Missiles and the ice beam play a huge part in Metroid. You need missiles to get through certain doors and defeat certain enemies, while you need the ice beam to defeat the metroids, in which the game is named after. The whole way you are warming up for the endlessly intense, excruciatingly hard battle with Mother Brain. So now, find your compass, and buy Metroid on the Virtual Console today.
